Bawdsey Manor

Join the team as we investigate this isolated Grade II Victorian mansion nestled deep within it’s 144-acre estate. Bawdsey Manor is historically famous as the birthplace of the modern radar during the building’s ownership by the Air Ministry prior to WWII.  Bawdsey Manor was built in 1886 by Sir William Cuthbert Quilter.  Over the years the building has been used as a Radar Station during WWII, as an underground control bunker (designed to withstand nuclear attacks), as a base for Bloodhound surface-to-air missiles, an international languages school and a museum.

Various paranormal incidents have been reported over the years on site… Disembodied children’s voices have been heard through the hallways, footsteps and the rustling of clothing through empty corridors along with unexpected temperature drops. Eyewitness reports tell of a male figure in a vintage tailcoat gazing out from an upstairs window, this energy has been named “The Butler’s Ghost”.

Can you think of anywhere better to spend Halloween……..
